About Us

This site, Shapology, reflects my desire to help people succeed at weight loss through dieting and exercise. I have had significant success, however, the struggle will always be there. I have changed my methods over the years, partly because knowledge of weight loss has improved through better research, and partly because change helps relieve monotony.  I have used exercise in many different forms, dieting, appetite suppressants, and more. I’ve even used hypnosis and inspirational CD’s.

Naturally I have developed some strong opinions on what has worked for me, other members of my family and my friends but everyone is different. Some diets which work really well for my sister leave me unable to function. I lose my ability to concentrate and be effective at home or work. The philosophy of this sight is that no single program of dieting or exersise nessicarily works for everyone.

I have written some of the posts on this site but there are other people who write from time to time. This site is intended to address many different issues. The contributors have all had diet challenges that differed so we collectively have significant experience in coping with the problem. Each of us has our own way of coping with having been a little or a lot over the ideal weight. We have had good success, although from time to time, each of us has had to renew our commitment to remain at a healthy weight.

I hope this site helps you find your ideal weight loss method. Please leave comments and let me know about your experiences.
